Young Innovators Shine in Nigeria’s Teesas Summer School
The Teesas Summer School concluded its vibrant session on August 29, 2025, celebrating the creativity and ambition of Nigeria’s youth. This dynamic event, held in Lekki and Ikeja, brought together enthusiastic teens aged 13 to 18 for three weeks of immersive learning.
With a focus on entrepreneurial thinking and personal development, the summer school culminated in an exhilarating pitchathon. Young participants showcased ideas aimed at solving pressing Nigerian challenges in transportation, education, and more. Noteworthy was a ride-hailing service designed for greener transport, a “mess-free” pet care solution, and a social enterprise addressing the educational gaps of 15 million out-of-school children through tech innovations.
The Value of Holistic Education
Teesas emphasized not just technical skills, but also personal growth through 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.' This initiative fostered collaboration among participants, building confidence and articulation, essential for effective pitching. As they presented their solutions, judges, including prominent figures like Osayi Izedonmwen and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, were not just evaluating business ideas but also the impact of these young innovators on society.
Inspiring the Next Generation
The feedback from the judges motivated the young minds, pushing them to refine their ideas and entrepreneurial skills further. Parents and mentors were also in attendance, which added to the celebratory atmosphere of the finale, highlighting the importance of nurturing innovative thinkers.
